Stuffed mushrooms



                                         
These bite size appetizers are simply delicious and super easy to make. A must try for all mushroom lovers !


Ingredients :
24 oz of white button or cremini mushrooms
4 large cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
white pepper to taste 
1/4 teaspoon salt 

Optional ingredients :
5-6 green onions, thinly sliced
1/4 teaspoon fresh thyme 

Directions

1. Wipe the mushrooms clean of any dirt and separate the stems from the cap. Set the caps aside. Finely chop the stems.

2. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions, herbs, and pepper. Mix in parmesan cheese until well combined. Cheese mixture is ready.

3. In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. Add the mushroom stems and salt, saute them from 7-8 mins. Add the fresh thyme and oregano, cook a minute more until fragrant. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese mixture prepared.

4. Spoon the mixture into each mushroom cap to slightly overfill it.

5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cream cheese is nicely golden brown.

Tadaa !! Ready to pop them in your mouth, but wait , let them sit for 5 minutes before you eat them else you'll burn your tongue and curse me.
